Zefir was a single-seat glider aircraft that was designed and built in Poland from 1957.
It was designed for the Polish representatives to start in the world championships in an open class glider competitions.

Our version has a composite fuselage in two parts for shipping savings, our well known poplar veneer wings (3-segment design).
The set cointains white foil for wing covering and cut-out orange foil for fuselage, tail and wing decoration with name and number decals.

Kit contains:

Offered here is a 1:3.9 scale model of the Polish PW-5 Smyk glider. The fuselage is made of fiberglass, and the wings are styrofoam sheeted with poplar veneer. It has a wingspan of 3.45 m and a length of 1.59 m. This makes the glider compact enough for transport, yet large enough to go thermal hunting at higher altitudes. The airfoil, specially designed for this model by aerodynamics expert Patryk Sokół (well known from more recent Art Hobby models), allows for dynamic flying while retaining thermal sensitivity. Basic aerobatics are also possible with the Smyk. Whether towed, slope-soaring, or powered by an electric motor, the model provides plenty of flying fun without overwhelming the pilot.

The take-off weight is around 3–3.5 kg depending on the equipment. Electrically, the Smyk can be powered by the Art Hobby ART 2300 motor and 3 LiPo cells with a capacity of 5000 mAh each.
